We are interested in studying the molecular mechanisms of veterinary-related pathogen infections and accompanying host innate immunity defense. Using pathogens such as porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV), the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) as models, we are working to reveal some novel and common biochemical mechanisms utilized by different pathogens to modulate host innate immunity.
